Reiki with Annie
Bio
Hi there. My name’s Annie. I am a reiki practitioner specializing in the Usui/Holy Fire tradition. My Reiki journey began when corporate burnout made me feel much like a robot. I was going through the motions of life; I often felt anxious, overwhelmed, and found it difficult to balance work and family. I not only became irritated with the ones I love, but I didn’t love who I was becoming. Once I incorporated Reiki into my routine, it served as a springboard for me and gave me a new perspective on life. Reiki has brought me inner peace, balance, and has shown me what’s really important in my life.
What is Reiki
Reiki (pronounced ray-key) is a Japanese technique that helps reduce stress, relax the mind and body, as well as promote inner balance by improving energy flow through the body. The term comes from the Japanese words rei, meaning universal, and ki, meaning life force energy. Ki is the energy that animates all living things (similar to chi in Chinese). It gives life to every bone, tissue and cell in your body. When your ki is low or unable to flow freely, it is more difficult to manage stress. When your ki is balanced and flowing freely, it supports the body’s own natural ability to heal.
Why Reiki
Reiki calms and promotes balance. It helps with emotional healing to better manage life’s ups and downs. Reiki enhances relaxation and sleep, self-awareness and self-esteem. It is extremely helpful for stress and anxiety-related symptoms. During a Reiki session, the client is extremely relaxed and is able to fall asleep. Reiki treatments are safe and non-invasive. After a Reiki session, you feel balanced and grounded. It improves concentration, rids the body of toxins to better fight disease and very helpful for healing past traumas and events.
We live in a stress-filled and fast-paced world, which can impact our ability to enjoy life, stay balanced, and maintain good quality health. I believe that the power of Reiki energy is limitless and my passion is to help you on your path to wellness. If you’re taking the time to read this, you may just be ready to start your journey. I hope to see you along the way.
What to expect during a Reiki treatment:
A complete Reiki session usually lasts 60 to 90 minutes. The recipient is lying on a treatment table or sitting comfortably in a chair while fully clothed.
Reiki is offered through the practitioner by light touch or placing the hands above or on a series of locations; the head, torso, and limbs. The placement of the hands should never be intrusive or inappropriate, nor should there be any pressure or manipulation. It is quite normal for some clients to fall asleep and many of them report feeling lighter and more relaxed after a session.
